How to install and commission a Volvo diesel generator

Installation requirements:

1. There should be at least 1 meter of space around the diesel generator set, and ventilation windows should be placed at the end of the water tank according to the size of the water tank core. This requirement is the minimum size of the unit room, and users can increase it as needed.

2. The foundation of a diesel generator set should be built on hard ground. After compaction, a 200mm thick cement floor is made, and the floor should be level.

3. When constructing the machine room, the user should pre-bury the I-beam (not less than 250KW) on the roof above the equipment for future maintenance.

4. The equipment room should be well ventilated, and the floor should be flat and non-slip.

5. The inner diameter of the exhaust pipe of the equipment should not be less than the diameter of the exhaust port of the diesel engine. The elbow should not exceed 3, and the angle of the elbow should be greater than 90 degrees. The exhaust pipe should be supported or hoisted to ensure that the muffler, supercharger, etc. are not under pressure.

6. The equipment room should be equipped with fire extinguishers and other fire extinguishing tools.

Composition

Diesel generator set includes diesel engine, AC synchronous generator, control panel and chassis, coupling, radiator, fuel tank, etc. Some also come with a muffler and lid. Direct connection between diesel and generator shafts. Usually, the flywheel is also mounted on the main shaft to increase the smoothness of operation. Diesel generator sets are usually assembled by manufacturers as a complete set of equipment. After determining the capacity and number of generators and then selecting the diesel engine that drives the generator, the other generators will be based on the electrical load and its characteristics. The fuel system and starting air system can be configured separately or in multiple units.
